Community Engagement Faculty Network
The Community Engagement Faculty Network was created in the Fall of 2009 (with the support of the Teaching and Learning Network) with the purpose to find ways for faculty members to better support one another in their community engagement efforts.

Faculty-In-Residence Program
The Faculty-in-Residence (FiR) Program integrates two selected faculty members and their families into the residence halls, where they live and interact with students, and implement educational, social, and cultural programs. Faculty-in-Residence normally serve a two-year term. This program is overseen by the Office of Student Affairs and Office of Residence Life and Summer Programs, which solicits applications from Pitzer faculty when openings are available.

Liberal Arts Colleges Racial Equity Leadership Alliance
The USC Race and Equity Center collaborates with institutions across the nation to empower faculty and staff members to strategically develop and achieve equity goals through climate studies, high-quality learning experiences, substantive partnerships and workshops built to improve racial literacy on campuses.

The goal of these partnerships is to assess students learning from an equity standpoint and to advance racial equity at their colleges and universities.

National Center for Faculty Diversity and Development
National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity is an independent professional development, training, and mentoring community for faculty members, postdocs, and graduate students. Select Institution, “Pitzer College” and use your Pitzer email address and credentials to create your personal account.

Melvin L. Oliver Racial Justice Initiative
In an effort to support productive discussion, analysis, and activism, President Melvin Oliver’s Racial Justice Initiative provides funds for three primary prongs: curricular transformation, co-curricular transformation, and structural transformation.  If you would like to support the Melvin L. Scholar-In-Residence Program

The Scholar-in-Residence Program provides course release from committee work and a reduced teaching load for one semester to allow a faculty member to work on his or her research. The faculty member is expected to offer a seminar-style course centered on his or her research during the semester of the award. The call for proposals is sent out to the faculty in late fall. Scholar-in-Residence positions are awarded per academic year, and as such, the program is competitive.
